American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases
Every year, the APF exhibits at the national American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases meeting to raise awareness about porphyria and educate hematologists about treatment. This year's meeting is October 31-November 4 in Boston. Would you like to help?
If you have a couple of days to spare and live in or near Boston, MA, you can educate doctors about diagnosis and treatment, and disseminate information about continuing medical education on porphyria, specialty consults, and expert porphyria labs in the United States. Staffing a booth gives you a chance to help doctors provide better treatment for their porphyria patients.
Convention volunteers are APF members like you, who finish their volunteer time talking about what a wonderful learning experience it is to work a medical convention exhibit booth. As a volunteer, you'll distribute APF literature to the physicians and researchers attending the meeting, discuss your own experiences with porphyria, and have a chance to meet some of the APF staff and other members face to face.
Please contact the office to volunteer for the meeting, we'd love to have you join us!
